Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>basics (more info?)

I had a PC running windows XP, I did some upgrades and thought that it
would be a good idea to re-install XP and so clear all the old stuff out.

I got my disc, put it in and did a total reinstall. But then when I
started, it wanted me to activate windows within 30 days. So I put in the
right numbers from the Disc and it would accept them? I'm only running the
one copy of XP on my PC so what did I do wrong?
