Post subject: Cannot open "Printers and Faxes" Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>help_and_support (more info?)
Windows XP Pro (2002) SP2 - when I try to "open printers and faxes" from the
control panel, it hangs. No amount of time is sufficient for it to open. I
cannot manage printers on this system. This is a new problem, the system
was working fine until a day or so ago.

Some system file is probably corrupt.
To repair all system files, go to Start/Run, and type: SFC /SCANNOW

Look in your Windows\System 32 folder for these 2 files spoolss.dll and
spoolsv.exe and delete them. Reboot. On reboot they will be recreated with
fresh copies. If that does not fix it then try my Explorer Shell Fix tool.
