Hi I am having trouble with my windows xp pro shutting down at random times.
It doesn't seem hot, I've checked the virus protection for problems. I am not
sure what else I can try. I don't get any error messages either.

When the computer appears to shut down...do you still hear sound coming
from inside the box?
If you don't hear sound, the most likely causes are:
1. Power supply has failed.
2. Computer has overheated and shut down to protect the components.
3. Power sag or spike.
If you still hear sound, the most likely causes are:
1. Monitor and/or video card are failing.
2. Video cable is loose
3. Malware attack.
Unless you are able to provide some hints to account for this problem -
like recent changes to hardware, software or configuration settings - I
suggest you show the computer to a professional.

Hello,
Does it shut down or restart? If it is restarting, disable the Automatic
Restart
in normal mode to get the blue screen error code. Here's how:
Start > Control Panel > System > Advanced > (Startup and Recovery) Settings
> UNCHECK 'automatically restart' > OK > OK
Now you should get the proper blue screen. Post back the information
reported there and we can assist you better

I don' t hear any noises, and I have checked for any viruses, trojans and
malware.
Could it be the video card?
