The OP probably didn't. The OP is using the techarena forum and that is
actually much worse than the web interface that many on here use. Most of
the data in the thread is junked before it shows on MS's or other
newsgroups.

Those files aren't shortcuts.
They are real bat files.

I do not understand why, in most cases, I do not have access to the
full menu.

After some experimenting on my Vista system I have found that depending on
exactly where the file is stored you may or may not have the full menu
available on a right click. Found this by moving a few batch files around
on the drive. Don't know what the answer is but it may be one of those
"Microsoft knows best" features.
