My laptop has been reformatted and has been working fine until the last
couple of days when it developed an intermittant fault. For no reason that I
can see everthing suddenly freezes. The curser doesn't move. I cannot do a
Ctrl Alt Delete, nothing works at all. The only thing I can do is turn off
via the power switch. It boots back up and all is ok again. I'm not doing
any particular thing when it freezes. I've looked at eveny viewer and that
doesn't show anything. Can anybody throw any light on what the problem could
be or is there any diagnostic tool I could download and run that would give
me a clue.
System is WinXP service pack 2. Processor is Intel 2.60 GHz and 512MB ram.
Many thanks
Dave

Go to Start/Run, and type DEVMGMT.MSC , highlight the Video device, Action
menu, "Uninstall", then restart Windows, to find the device drivers again
automatically.

Hi Mark
Tried as you suggested but no luck. I have actually downloaded the latest
drivers for the graphics card and will see how I get on with that.
Thanks anyway
Dave
