Post subject: Windows Live Messenger Crash my WinXP2 with error BAD_POOL_CALLED
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>messenger (more info?)

I'm using WinXP SP2 and recently I faced a problem with the Windows Live
Messenger 8.0 & 8.1 Beta version. After installing the Windows Live
Messenger, my WinXP crashed with a blue screen showing BAD_POOL_CALLED and
auto restart my System. I do not have such problem if I revert it back to MSN
Messenger 7.5

Anyone experience this and able to provide a solution for my problem?

I'm using IBM T41 notebook with 80GB Harddisk & 1.25GB RAM.

I have A problem like that. Every time I run WLM 8.0 or 8.1 I get the blue
screen of death and when my system restarts it tells me I recovered for a
serious error or something like that. 7.5 works fine though. Good luck
finding any help on fixing this. I have sent e-mail to msn messenger and WLM
sites with information from my event log and have heard nothing. btw this is
what my event viewer said.

Hi,

Also having the same problem.
I think now it is fixed (no crash for about 1 hours!!!, defore fixing
it I crashed immediatly).

I follow these steps :
- Just open an expoler
- Delete this folder : C:\Documents and Settings\<<my_login>>
\Application Data\Microsoft\MSN Messenger

Let me know if its works.

Regards.
