Hi Gerry
I've checked the settings as per your entry below and they match so Data = Y
"Enabled".
I uninstalled Defraggler as I was told at work that the Windows Defrag is
adequate so deleted for the additional space.
Can you advise how I check whether Prefetch is Enabled/Disabled.
Many thanks again.

Hi Nass
Have now sorted the System Managed Size question I had to your suggestion.
What does this do and how will it help my defrag problem.
Tried changing the account to me as an administrator and it didn't work.
Did the PageDefrag and that worked on bootup.
Have downloaded and run Hijackthis. I have sent the report to you.
Regards
Ian

Ian
That's fine.
FWIW I use the Microsoft Defragmenter and Defraggler and get no
problems. I have never used Auslogics. When I asked the earlier
question I had Diskeeper in mind.
Has this key been disabled i.e. does the data key show an N?
http://snurl.com/kkmxl [209_85_229_132]
Does Defraggler work?
Is Prefetch enabled or disabled?

Hope this helps.

Ian
Defraggler is a fine product. You are not short of disk space!
Start, Run, type "regedit" without quotes and click OK.
The EnablePrefetcher key has the following values:
0 = Disabled
1 = Application launch prefetching enabled
2 = Boot prefetching enabled
3 = Application launch and boot enabled
To disable Prefetch, set the value to 0.
The value here is 3 as below.
Key Name:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Session Manager\Memory
Management\PrefetchParameters
Class Name: <NO CLASS>
Last Write Time: 20/06/2009 - 07:30

Value 3

Hi Gerry
Prefetch is currently set to 3 (Enable). Should I be setting it to 0
(Disable)
I checked all my settings with yours below and the only one which differed
to yours is "VideoInitTime =714" Mine said "VideoInitTime=436" so I changed
it to your setting. Is this correct.

Ian
Changing to a Windows Managed Pagefile will not help solve your problem.
Whilst it is commonly recommended it leads to more rapid fragmentation
of free disk space than if a minimum=maximum pagefile setting is used. A
Windows Managed Pagefile leads to greater fragmentation of other files
on the volume, especially as the drive fills up.
