Post subject: Can't get my VPN to work. Help!!! Add to elertz Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>work_remotely (more info?)
Hello,
I have a huge and annoying problem that everyone just keeps telling me is
someone else's problem. I just started a new job and got issued my laptop.
At home I have a desktop, dsl modem(windstream service), and linksys wireless
router. I hooked it up to my wireless router via a lan connection and got
onto the internet. I then tried to use my Cisco VPN Client, configured by
the IT guys, to log into work. It does not work. I have tried everything.
The IT guys at work are saying it is my ISPs problem. The ISP is saying that
I have some setting wrong. No one wants to help. The only thing I can come
up with is that I have some sort of setting wrong on the cable modem or
wireless router. I have looked over the setting and can't seem to figure it
out. I feel like it has something to do with UDP TCP NAT NAPT PAT PORT
forwarding, DNS server or something of this sort. When I get on my neighbors
wireless connection the VPN works fine so I know it is not anything to do
with work. Also when I use dial up from my house it works fine. Does anyone
have any suggestions? Again the internet works fine from the laptop it is
just the VPN. This is driving me up a wall and I can't find to seem any good
articles on any of this. Please help!!!!

When trying to establish Cisco VPN, do you receive any reason code?

Tell us who your ISP is?
I had this with Orange, turned out I had to lower the firewall settings.
