Hello,

Only yesterday my computer was working really well and I was able to watch
youtube videos or google video. And today my computer is still working
really well except......

...... today when I try to watch a Youtube video, I'm getting the message:
"Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's
Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player.

I have the newest version of Flash player, so I'm sure it's just a
permission I have to tweak in "internet options". But for the life of me I
can't find which one it is.

Can someone please help direct me to the proper settings?

Thanks for your help!

Download and run the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller:
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157

or direct download:

Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller:
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash...ayer.ex

Close all IE windows and run the Flash Player Uninstaller.

Then visit:
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=S...kwaveFl

and click on "Install Now".

Perhaps you are running a program that has as one of its features a
Flash content blocker. For instance, SpywareBlaster has a feature called
Flash Killer. The good news is that this feature can be turned on *and*
off.

Personally, I like using TurnFlash, which is a quick way of enabling and
disabling Flash content:

http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/tflash2.html

It plays well with SpywareBlaster by the way.

Thanks Carey, that sounded like a good fix. I clicked on the link you
provided and uninstalled flash player.

Then I clicked on the link to the Adobe site to re-install it, and when I
click the "Agree and Install" button, all I get is the little red "x" in the
upper left corner. I don't even get the warning about activex that usually
pops down. I don't know what's wrong because if I select to download
Adobe's Reader, or Shockwave, I could download either of those as usual.

Is there something wrong at Adobe's site (which I doubt) or more likely...
what's wrong with my settings that I can't even download the Flash file?
Just to test things out, I went to download.com and I could download
anything from there.

Please let me know what you think.

Daaaaaaaaave!

You nailed it buddy!

Thank you so much. I forgot about Spyware Blaster because I had it running
in the background for so long I'd forgotten about it... until yesterday. I
opened it up just to refresh my memory what it was all about and I did
indeed hit the "kill" button for flash, although I apparently wasn't paying
attention.

So bottom line.... everything is working perfectly once more.

And I'll look into TurnFlash too. Thanks for that link.

I really appreciate your suggestion. A quick, easy fix.... tank you, tank
you!

Just an update Daave... I downloaded TurnFlash and love it. Talk about a
nice quick and easy little utility. Thanks for that as well! So to return
the favor... have you ever heard of Defraggler? That's a real good one!

http://www.defraggler.com/

And KeyPass for your passwords is awesome.
