Start up/ Boot questions - order of start!

I am having problems with either start/up or boot up in that when I
log on in the mornings, my Windows Live Messenger does not
automatically start for me (I have it set to start auto). I now
realize it cannot do that because my internet connections starts AFTER
the Messenger does. How can I change the order to have this start
first or second)....in simple terms please.

That's sometimes pretty hard to do because things load in "chunks"
during boot up time. e.g. y ou get a piece of your AV running almost
first thing, although it might be one of the last things you see in the
system tray icons.

One thing I've had work before is to uninstall the program; Messenger in
your case. Restart the machine three times. Yes, I said three<g>.
Then reinstall Messanger. That should put it at the end of the list
of programs that are installing. It may or may not work; I've only had
to use it a couple times and never recently.

There are also 3rd party programs that can do that, but I personally
don't recommend them. Windows technically should be capable of ordering
things properly. There are ways too, to set services for a "delayed
start" which means don't load them until everything else is loaded.
That works well but it's not straight forward to accomplish as you said
you wanted.

Give the uninstall/boot/reinstall a try and see if it helps.
