Are you absolutely certain? The update installer thinks you've got SP3 beta -
or at least, one or more files from SP3 beta.

Did you download the executable file or the ISO image? What is the name of the
file downloaded?

I'd suggest uninstalling SP3 (whether it's Beta or not) and then IE7. Reinstall
SP3 (if you're sure it isn't the beta!) and then IE7 (make sure you've got the
latest installer) and with luck you'll be able to install the update.

Harry.

Err ..., isn't it supposed to be
"microsoft.public.multimedia.windows.mediaplayer" ?

Err, .... no.

Actually it's supposed to be

microsoft.public.windowsmedia.player

The group you mentioned gets only about 100 posts a month. This one
gets 300.

Interesting tale & thanks for your feedback.

Do you use a "Registry cleaner"?

I did not know about that NG but I now have subscribed to it. There appears
to be at least some overlap between the two mentioned groups as far as
posting topics is concerned.
Thanks for your reply.

Post subject: Re: Security Update for IE7 WinXP KB950759 fails to install Add to elertz [Login to view extended thread Info.]
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsupdate, others (more info?)

I don't know if this post addresses my problem. I recently installed Windows
XP SP3 afterwhich when I receive Updates & try to install them I get a
message that States "The Following Updates Were Not Installed" the listed
items are all of the new updates. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
