Post subject: Policy does not hide when logging on to WinXP sp3 on Win2K domain
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>security_admin (more info?)

I have a win2K domain controller and WinXP sp3 clients. I am using Group
Policies and Roaming Profiles. Intermittenly, when users log on, on the
taskbar is a icon of a green computer monitor. You are unable to right click
and close the icon. I believe that this one of the Group policy or script
that is either not loading correctly or does not hide itself. I have the
group policy "Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon"
enabled.

First question: Is this a policy that is not hiding or loading? Is there
another policy to run that could help?
Second question: I know there is Start Run Command I can run from the XP
client machine to see if the computer and user policies loaded correctly.
Unfortunately, I cannot remember the command, can anyone help with this?
Third question: I came across a knowledge base article in the past that
talked about setting a registry value on the XP client machine that would
wait, at logon, for all policies to fully load before the desktop appeared. I
think I had to create the value within a key. Then, I remember I could set
incremental seconds for that value. For instance, the data for the value
would be 20 for 20 seconds and 60 for 60 seconds. Unfortunately, I did not
save the article and can't find it after few hours searching the knowledge
base. Does anyone know about this article and direct me to the article
number? Do you think the registry setting would help?
I know this is a lot to ask, your help is appreciated?
Thanks.
