Hi
What do the symbols A, F and 1 mean on the Microsoft Wireless Optical
Desktop Receiver that comes with the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop
1000?
When the mouse and keyboard are working ok It appears that the number 1
and F are lit up but A is not.
I have a keyboard and mouse setup that is the same at work and typing
and clicking is playing up and seems irritably slow. The Microsoft
Wireless Optical Desktop Receiver is only showing F lit up. Does this
mean there is a problem somewhere?

F = F-Lock.. 1 = Num Lock.. A = Caps Lock.. if the light is on, then the
function is in an 'ON' state..

A := Caps Lock
1 := Num Lock
F := F Lock
Lit up means the lock is on.

No.
The slowness may be due to low batteries; to an inability of the receiver
and peripherals to see one another clearly (try moving the receiver closer);
and to congestion (for lack of a better word) on the USB port that the
receiver is attached to.

I am having trouble activating this same wireless set. I do not have the microsoft install disk so I think this is a bit of my problem. I have downloaded the wireless mouse/keyboard applications from the microsoft website and the devises are showing up in my list of hardwares, but I cannot make them active? I have my old mouse and keyboard also plugged in they both show up on the list, but I cannot make my wireless devises defaults or get any action out of them. Also when i press numlock or capslock my devise router does not respond, although currently 1 & f are both lit up on the router. Do I need to install the router itself?
Any suggestions
Thanks,
