Post subject: MSXML 4.0 SP2 Security Update Problem Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>general (more info?)
When I use Windows Update on my new computer (Dell - XP Pro SP2) I have (2)
updates that appear. They are (1) MSXML 4.0 SP2 Security Update (KB927978)
and (1) MSXML 4.0 SP2 Security Update (925672). I have downloaded and
installed SUCCESSFULLY, as indicated by Windows Update, multiple times.
Whenever I scan this new computer for updates, these (2) updates are still
there. I went directly to Microsoft’s download site, downloaded the updates
and manually installed them as well. I rescanned this computer again and the
updates still show up. I selected to hide them but then Windows Update warns
me every time I go there that I have Critical Updates hidden that should be
installed. How can I resolve this? Thanks for your assistance!
