Post subject: LuCallBackProxy slowing system
Having problems with NAV's LuCallBackProxy.exe taking up resources on pc? This solved my problem after working with NAV techspt chat line.
Problem : Norton AntiVirus is seriously degrading my system speed to the point I will have to get rid of it if I can't improve it. How do I change the frequency of LuCallback file running, it takes up all my resources?
Rick: I understand from your message that the Lucallback proxy using much of the computers memory. Am I correct?

Rick: Could you please let me know the Norton Program installed on your computer and the Operating system of your computer ?
Mr._Raen: OS: XP Professional SP 2
Mr._Raen: Norton AntiVirus 2007
Mr._Raen: Memory: 1GB
Rick: Now we need to disable the Symprotect feature of the Norton program then we should run the LiveUpdat then we should check for the issue.
Rick: Open Norton program and click on Norton AntiVirus tab.
Rick: Under Settings, click on open.
Click on Auto-Protect.
A small pop-up will display with 2 buttons turn off (or turn on) and Configure button.
Click on Configure button.
Mr._Raen: thank you.. next step?
Rick: Norton AntiVirus options windows will get opened.
Click Miscellaneous in the left pane of the window.
Uncheck the option "Turn on protection for my Symantec product".
Click OK button.
Mr._Raen: done
Rick: Now please end the Lucallback proxy process from the task manager.
Rick: 1.Open Task manager then click on process tab.
Mr._Raen: next.. lucallback is not running now
Rick: Now please run the LiveUpdate.
Mr._Raen: completed and it is asking for a restart of the computer
Rick: Now please check the Lucallbackproxy process is it running?
Mr._Raen: LUALL.exe and LUCOMS~.exe are running but I cannot see LUCALLBACKPROXY running
AT THIS POINT MY SYSTEM NO LONGER RAN SLOW WITHOUT FOLLOWING STEPS IN DOCUMENT LINK BELOW...
Mr._Raen: Is there a document or whitepaper that I can read on LuCallback service?
Rick: In this case I suggest you to restart the computer and check for the issue.
Mr._Raen: where can i read more technical information on LuCallbackproxy?
Mr._Raen: I need to understand what we did and what affect it will have on the security of my computer. What is the difference between LUALL.exe and LUCALLBACKPROXY.exe?
Rick: Please be informed that the Symantec is working on it. So I suggest you to perform the clean boot with Microsoft and Symantec products and check for the issue. We will be glad to help you.
