Post subject: Internet Explorer
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>basics (more info?)

My son has recently managed to sign up to some pop up ads from the ABI
network and am unable to close this. Have now invested in some pop up
blocker but underlying problem remains.

This also seems to have affected internet Explorer and it may need
reinstalling, as this cam as bundled software I can't do this easily,
Is there anywhere that I can download explorer?

Thanks

The first step here is to eliminate the ABI stuff - unless you do that your
problems will keep coming back.

First, by ABI Network, I'm assuming that you're referring to the virus by
that name. I'd suggest that you go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ and
perform a scan on your system. They will also give you advice on removing
this pest.

Next, I assume you want to download Internet Explorer. Just go to the
Windows Update site and select the Windows Catalog - from there you can
search for it.

Prior to that, you might want to try a repair of Internet Explorer - the
instructions are at this link:
