I just bought a new hard drive and have installed Windows XP Pro. I tried to
sign into Messenger and it says "signing into .net messenger service failed
because the service is not compatable with this program".
Do I need to install Service Pack 2, or what do I need to do to be able to
use Messenger?
Thanks.

Greetings Jenny,
Older versions of Windows Messenger will not allow you to sign into Messenger. For best
results, I suggest you download the latest Windows Live Messenger:
