Post subject: GLB.tmp Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>security_admin (more info?)
Hello , I have noticed few of these items status' are either "Permitted "
-or- "Blocked" in the Personal Firewall Control Program settings of Norton :
Internet Security 2005 . I selected to "Block" all these items , because
niether the results from my searches and knowledge of them from H/P are
helpful . Them items are : GLB13C.tmp
- GLBDE.tmp
- GLB24.tmp
- GLB1A.tmp
- GLB25.tmp
- GLB1B.tmp
- GLBA3.tmp
- GLB99.tmp . What are the items ? I will continue searching for the
definitions , Good practice at least to try seeking info on all items that
show up on scans , settings etc. Thank You .

I -think- I figured out what these files are for. I just updated to the
latest Yahoo Messenger and that process keeps prompting me during the
installation process. There are a half-dozen of them and they're only
popping up during the download/installation/upgrade process. My firewall
(Online Armor) popped up the other day with a request for a GLB*.tmp
file and when I looked online, nobody knew what it was for. Matter of
fact, I only got 4 results on google for the one that prompted me
(GLB26A.tmp). So, obviously, I blocked it. But my Yahoo hasn't been
working since then and I didn't connect the two until just now.
Just wanted to get that out there so people who know more than me can
verify this. If it's not Yahoo then I just allowed several of them to
work on my computer and I'm in twubble. *giggle*
