Windows XP Home with Srv Pak 3

Someone brought their PC over with some Avast 4.x links, stuff, etc in the
REGISTRY. Will XP Home fix its own registry?

Spy Bot has not been able to remove it.

Reinstalling Avast 4.x in the same folder failed. Teh install tried to
remove all previouls Avast links but according to the Install LOG it failed.

I would like to run the Avast Registry Cleaner that removed all pointers to
Avast then restart and re-install Avast 4.x or Pro.

What would you do to fix the XP Registry entries?

Thank you from New Orleans

It would have been good if you'd told us why you wanted to do this. If you
want to keep Avast, then don't worry about any entries for Alwil in the
registry. If you are trying to install a different antivirus and having
difficulties, Avast has an uninstaller tool. Look on their site.

Thanks to everyone. I used several Spyware and Anti Virus tools along with
MalWare programs and finally figured it all out
