Fable issues, sigh.....

I've updated, downloaded, followed everything on this site and still can't seem to get the game working right. Sometimes it will work sometimes it doesnt. Other times ill be playing and then BAM it closes. Most of the time when i start the game, it looks like the game screen starts to maximize, but stays still on this black screen. I have to ctrl alt del out of it. So any other suggestions u guys got? I got the feeling its more my soundcard than anything else. I have the Soundblaster 24bit Live! Update the drivers to the latest ones (Aug 5, 2005 is the latest one for it on the creative site) I havent tried disabling it yet but im going to try that. Lemme know any other suggestions if u guys have any.

well i got it working, come to find out it was a windows desktop skin that i had, i disabled it now the game runs fine.
