I have the same problem and have tried most suggestions without success. Will keep a eye on this subject. I can't think of a change that may have triggered this problem.

This problem is due to a defect in the uninstaller of Norton Antivirus.
The uninstaller fails to cleanly remove some components and as a result, leaves your Windows Media Center edition in a bad state. To fix the problem you can install the Norton Removal Tool, which can be downloaded from the Symantec website. As soon as I installed the removal tool, the message dissappeared. I also noticed the message only appeared when I was longed onto the internet.

Interesting that people are finding this one hard to pin down, that is to
say - suspecting a range of different things Smile
For the past few days on my PC, I've been suspecting that it's a
drive:pathname to to a Word document on a USB pen-drive - ( drive N: in
my case ) ...for which I have a Quick Launch icon. ...I was suspecting that
XP didn't like there being no such drive lettter allocated until I plugged
in the pen-drive. If I clear the "recently used documents list" at Start |
Settings | Taskbar and Start Menu | Start Menu tab | Custonize (Classic
Start Menu) | Clear
....the problem seems to go away, however, I'm not sure about that !! Smile

regards, Richard

This worked for me. Thank you.

I was getting the same No Disk C0000013 error that appeared out of the blue. In my case it was due to a SD Card Reader installed on in the PC. Here's how I resolved this issue;

1. Unplug all USB devices other than your Keyboard & Mouse. This includes any USB printers, cameras, external backup drives, etc.

2. Open Device Manager -

Right-click over "My Computer" and select "Manage". When the msc window opens, select Device Manager from the left side menu.

3. Click the + sign next to "Disk Drives" on the right side panel. Look for any USB related disk drives.

4. Highlight each USB disk drive; right-click on it and select "Disable", (Do Not Select "Uninstall"). You will receive a warning message indicating your device will no longer function if you continue. Proceed with disabling the device. Follow this same process with ONLY any other "USB" disk drives you have listed. When finished, close the msc window.

5. Reboot your system.

If the error message no longer appears, follow steps 2, 3, 4, and 5 by re-enabling 1 of the USB disk drives at a time until you find the culpret device. In my case, it was a faulty SD Card reader. I don't use it so I left it diasabled and my problem is resolved.

I hope this helps you.

Start/Run/regedit

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/Windows
ErrorMode value 0(ziro) as for 2(two) to change.
