Post subject: Event ID 4321 - NetBT Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>help_and_support (more info?)
I've noticed this event; The desktop (winXp) has 3 Lan connections I've now
disabled the two unused connections
The system Is occassionally networked via a wireless router to a winxp
Laptop & Vista Desktop. There is also a wireless printer server, which is
functioning
Event Type: Error
Event Source: NetBT
Event Category: None
Event ID: 4321
Date: 18/05/2009
Time: 18:35:20
User: N/A
Computer: HOME
Description:
The name "WORKGROUP :1d" could not be registered on the Interface with
IP address 192.168.2.3. The machine with the IP address 192.168.2.4 did not
allow the name to be claimed by this machine.

Check the name of the workstation to make sure that it isn't the same as
the workgroup or as another machine on the LAN. See:

Definately not, none of the workstations have the same name

I think it was something to do with the workgroup and my firewall throwing a
hissy fit.
I created a new network workgroup and so far so good
