When I download WINXP Messenger and start the installation process, it stops
with a Error 1500: Another installation is in progress. You must complete
that installation before continuing this one.

I'm not installing anything else. I rebooted my computer and still received
the same message.

Any other ideas on how to install this product?
Thanks,
Mike Stanley

Greetings Mike,

Assuming you're familiar with editing the registry, navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\InProgress within the
registry and delete the InProgress key.

Then do the same for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session
Manager\PendingFileRenameOperations.

Then if at least one of these existed and you've now removed, give it a shot again.

Jonathan Kay,
I didn't have either of those folders or values present on my registry. Is
there anything else that I could try?
Thanks,
Mike Stanley
