Sounds like fun!

(You know there is no question here and of course, absolutely no info to
speculate on.)

How much RAM memory?

Try Ctrl+Alt+Delete to select Task Manager and click the Performance
Tab. Under Commit Charge what is the Total, the Limit and the Peak?

Are there any problems indicated in the System and Application logs?

Please post copies of all Error and Warning Reports appearing in the
System and Application logs in Event Viewer relating to the last boot in
normal mode . No Information Reports or Duplicates please. Indicate
which also appear in a previous boot.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning
of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description
are important.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

Hope this helps.

Several points:

1. Please don't yell at us by typing in capitals

2. Please describe your computer, especially its hardware--what CPU,
how much RAM, etc.

3. How long have you had the computer?

4. How long have you been having this problem? Is it new or has it
always been there since you got it?

5. If it's new, when did it start, especially with relation to
something else you may have done or installed?

6. Exactly how slow is "super slow"? Please put a number on it, even
if an approximate one.

7. Is it slow doing everything, or just booting?

8. What programs do you have starting automatically when you power on?
Run the msconfig program to see a list of them.

9. What anti-virus and anti-spyware programs do you run, and are they
all kept up-to-date?

Bradyn

This is a Windows XP newsgroup. The presumption is therefore that the
operating system is Windows XP.

Hello,
I hope nobody minds if I hijack this post since the original poster did not
reply

I have a similar problem with a slow computer
First I would like to say that I am somewhat new to XP since I have been
using windows 98 most of the time
The first thing I want to solve is the slow boot
I installed windows xp pro on an amd based comuter running at 1ghz with
128mb ram
This is on a 20 gb hard drive that is dual booted with windows xp
From the very begining before adding any software it takes 2 minutes to
fully boot into xp window
Is there a different version of xp installed on the desktop than the laptop ?
Does the ram make any difference ?

Because I have a laptop with 700mhz and 64 mb ram with windows 98 and xp
(from a different cd) also dual booted and it takes only about 30-40 seconds
the same as windows 98
So why is it booting slower on a faster pc with more memory ?
I would be happy to answer any question anyone has in order to solve this
problem
