The CD Recording Wizard does not handle IMAPI_E_BADJOLIETNAME error
correctly. It just says "disc write error", without indicating which name is
problematic and why. And it also says "disc may be damaged", which is FUD in
this case. There is no error system event either.
The only workaround is to trace the activity of IMAPI.EXE in Process
Monitor. But that requires administrator privileges.

Surely not "FUD" (which means "Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt". More like
inappropriat error message ("IEM"?)

Can you elevate the CD Recording Wizard by using "Run as ..."?

Since your error includes a "BADJOLIETNAME" error, perhaps you are including
characters in the filename which are not allowed in the Joliet recording? I
don't know; I've always used either the Sonic suite which originally came
with this HP Pavilion, or the Nero suite, which came with Pioneer DVD burner
that replaces the OEM DVD burner.
