Hi Nass
Ok, you have given me a lot to work through but finding my way slowly.
Have the following:
In the event log it comes up with : System Error (102) 1003
In the device manager it comes up with an unknow device : on Intel(R)
82801FB LPC Interface Controller - 2640, have tried finding a driver but no
luck. Have disabled it but still no luck.
Tried running pstat.exe and dmpchck.exe but got the following message:
Windows cannot find'pstat.exe/dmpchck.exe". Make sure you typed the name
correctly, then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and
then click Search.
As for new software I did install a new printer - HP Deskjet All-in-one
f4100 series and updates are just the normal windows ones and my AVG
antivirus.
Have removed the RAM and replaced it.
Will try find time on Friday again to work through the rest but thanks gor
the help so far.

Hi James,
Can you please post back the exact verbatim of the error message something
like this for example:
Restore your system to an earlier date when things were working okay and see
if that will help.
Scan for malware and viruses on your system.
HTH
Good luck

I have run numerous malware, trojan, spyware checks and found nothing.
I have cancelled the SP3 update for now but the machine is still rebooting
regularly by itself.
Going to work through a few more things on your list now.
Thanks
