Uhm...
That seems like a laptop question...
If it is - you'll still have to use the keyboard - but you can usually
change the brightness setting (battery vs. pluggedin) in the system BIOS.
But in case it is not - use your monitors controls...
Sometimes on-screen - sometimes just wheels/buttons.

I would use the buttons except for the fact that they do not work.

Remove or insert the power plug, or read the manual for your laptop.
