| Hi, I am not sure whether I am in the right section or not but hope someone
| can help me. I have run AVG Free for ages but last night the update failed
| saying that there was a missing .bin file. This happened after I had
| installed the latest XP updates - could this be the problem? I have
| uninstalled and reinstalled the AVG Free programme but the response is the
| same. Since I have no idea what a .bin file is and whether the Microsoft
| update caused the problem or whether it is an AVG problem I hope someone can
| help me with this. Many thanks

Actually, microsoft.public.security.virus is more apropos.

Many people are relating the SAME problem which is problem at Ewido/Grisoft and not with
your PC.

Thanks Dave fo your reply. Happy to say it WAS an AVG problem - their update
was corrupted but it has been rectified now. Cheers and thanks again

You are better off using Avast or Avira. AVG has become a brake as far as
computers are concerned..
