Set your e-mail servers correctly according to the instructions from your
ISP or e-mail provider.

Is Cox Communications your provider?

Are these your settings:

Incoming:
pop.cox-internet.com

Outgoing:
smtp.cox-internet.com

Saw your reply & wanted to add...I use Cox as my ISP. When I contacted Cox re
the '-' between the word cox and internet, Cox informed me that that
configuration
would never work. I tried "the dash" configuration and the "normal"
configuration &
still have not been able to send or receive mail with Windows Mail. I always
get a socket error 1000600(tried different ones) and sometimes some ambiguous
error msg
re 'cant find pop or smtp server' or password/user name error. I have tried
everything
I know to get windows mail to work, but have had absolutely no success. I
don't know where or how the "dash" idea originated, but when Cox Tech Support
informs me that the "dash" configuration will NOT work, I run out of options.
Sure would be nice to find someone who could finally resolve my setup and
operational problems. As it is, I have to use another email client to have
email working with Vista.
