Windows Mail can only access POP and IMAP email accounts. Unless you pay
for the Plus Hotmail/Live email account, you can't access the POP server.
You can access the free Hotmail/Live account with the newer Windows Live
Mail.

Go to your ISP and ask them for pop3 server and smtp server and port
settings and whatever else you need to access your mail account. Then go to
tools/accounts/add. Enter information it asks for and your set. With live it
may take you to information page as soon as you open program.

Call your ISP and ask them for your email address and pop3 server settings
and smtp server settings. When you open WLM it will ask you to enter this
information. That's all there is to it. Good luck.
