What "stuff"? My response (below) says nothing about making
sure that settings under Tools are unchecked.
Kindly respond to the advice I offered.

Windows Mail does not allow pasting of pictures.

Alternatively, while on the message compose screen, click Insert, Picture.
(Only works for HTML messages.)

Or you can upgrade to Windows Live Mail, which does allow pasting
of pictures: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview

Hi Gary,

I was able to go to the main WinMail options tab, and I did un-check both
boxes mentioned, but when I try to send a message, the images are Still
showing up blank with a small red x. I have re-confirmed that I've changed
the security settings, but still, no luck - and now, when I try to select
text with images to copy/paste, the images don't even appear at all (just a
blank box with a red x)... any clue as to what I've done wrong?

Windows Mail does not allow pasting of images, nor can you attach
images that are open in another program. If you want those features,
upgrade to Windows Live Mail:

Sorry for my English before all.

Here how does this problem look like in my case:

1. I receive a message with an embedded picture in it to my GMAIL
mailbox. GMAIL views the picture without any problems. When I
right-click on the image and view its properties I can see that the
image is stored at the following address:
http://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=2&ik=b9a38acb0f&view=att&th=11e4ff1795...091&att
In other words, it is stored on GMAIL’s own server. And with no
doubts it was written to it when I have received a message. That’s
how I understand it.
2. Then I forward that message in HTML format to another mailbox (not
GMAIL). I open that mailbox with its online mail client, open the
message and the image is still there (!). It is shown with no problems
again and the address is following:
http://webmail.mirohost.net/mime.pl?file=mikola.jpg So again it is
stored on the mailbox’s own server.
3. After that I try to view the same message on the same mailbox
through my Widows Live Mail or Windows Mail (problem appears in both).
The message is there but red cross is shown instead of image! The option
to view message as HTML doesn’t work, so I save the message as
HTML page and right-click on the image to view its properties. The
address is: cid:4E9824E0-2284-4E38-9B8E-D9B38496436A (???). I’ve
tried pasting that address into my browser’s address line –
the error page is loading. “Block images and other external
content in HTML E-mail” in mail security options is unchecked,
“Show images and external content sent from e-mail addresses in my
Safe Senders list” is checked. IE security settings are turned to
the lowest level possible. “Incoming e-mail scanning” in my
antivirus program is turned off.

Please, help me to solve this problem.
