Post subject: You need permission to perform this action Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>vista>file_management (more info?)
For the past couple weeks, I've noticed that some of the files I try to
delete claim that I don't have permission to delete them. First of all,
all of the files on my computer have been installed on the only account
currently on the computer. Second, I have full administrative rights, so
there should be no problem deleting files from anywhere. I'm completely
stumped on how to get rid of any of them.
I'll provide whatever information you need to help me fix this.
First of all, I'm currently on a Dell Inspiron 1420 series running Home
Premium. The folder I'm trying to delete is directly on the hard drive
(C:\). It's called Nexon (the company). In it, there is another folder
called Mabinogi (a game I once played, but would like to get rid of).
I've already uninstalled the game, which is why it's so confusing that
the folder is even still there. In that folder is the undeletable file,
called npkcmsvc.exe (an application file). I've tried searching through
the properties of the file, and attempted to change some to give myself
permission, but it just doesn't seem to work.
All times are: Eastern Time (US & Canada) (change)
