Post subject: installation error Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>vista>general (more info?)
why is that when i download certain files and programs from the internet
using vista home premuim an error page will pop up, while i am trying to
install something that i just downloaded. the error will say unable to
install, windows can not create uninstall...., this only happens sometimes,
and i have downloaded these same programs and files on XP with no problems,
but i can't send them from my XP to vista as another error keeps these files
from being transfered.

Try installing them in XP SP2 compatibility mode.
Right-click on the setup.exe of the Program>Properties>Compatibility Tab
Also, you can not move installed programs from one computer to
another(except like sol.exe).
They have to be reinstalled from the Media, or downloaded.
