I just descovered the Guest account is the source of my lost disk space.
39 gig is not available and the system indicates it is in the Guest
account. But looking at the details, there is nothing of any magnitude
stored in the Guest account.
I'm looking for solutions on how to recover that 39 gig of space.

not sure if this will help but did you try disk cleanup?

I discovered that if I delete the folders in the Guest account that I
got the space back. Even though the folder did not claim to be that big
- when I said delete it recongnized it was much bigger and recovered all
the space.
