yes i have reseted modem and this is a new custom built computer i just
loaded vista ultimate 64 bit and from the beginning i was never able to
connect to the internet on this computer i have another pc with xp on it and
it connects fine i talked to nvida ( my motherboard maker) and all network
adapters are working properly and comcast told me that its not a problem
with them cause i cant release ip

i dont think it is installed i dont know where to instal it from it's not on
the cd with my motherboard drivers

did you go into the network control panel and uncheck IPv6 and try
that?

did you read the thread? the person in question did not have the
firewall installed but did a new install of x64 which resolved the
problem.

i did try to reinstall vista 2x that didnt work, but i did not uncheck ipv6 i
will try that. Is there any way to get remote assitance with out a connection
to the internet

or is there anyway that i can take the ip from my old xp computer and put it
on the vista, the xp will not be used any longer the vista is the only 1 i
need connected
