Information in my reply based on Intel's specs and comparison of their
processors on their site and motherboard specs as stated on MSI's site.

What operating system are you currently running on your system? Is it XP 64
or XP 64 Pro?

Does your system actually support 64 Bit? I didn't notice any mention of 64
Bit in the motherboard specs. If you are not running a machine that is 64 bi
enabled, then a 64 Bit operating system will not install on it.

Your system (computer) has to be 64bit. You cannot install a 64bit OS on a non 64bit system

The first thing I would do (you may already have done this, so please
excuse me if you have) is check for the latest BIOS from the motherboard
manufacturer. I ran Vista32 on my main machine for a long time (over a
year) with no issues, but when I tried to install Vista x64 it would
fail during initialization in the way you are describing. I flashed the
BIOS and it solved my issues.

Well, I tried that and it didn't seem to help. My BIOS is now up to
date and still the same problem. Thanks for the tip though. This has
to be the most mind boggling thing I've ever encountered in a computer.

AFAIK Vista64 bit will only install on Intel Core 2 Duo CPUs or on Pentium 4
Dual Core E2XXX CPUs. and
Vista 32bit requires a fully complient X86 CPU. Since your CPU does not
appear to be P4 E2XXX CPU maybe why Vista 64 will not install.
You stated that you had found information at the Intel Website that your
processor was complient. Could you please post a link to what you found and
let us know what OS you are currently running on your system.

If you post the details of the BSOD we may be able to point you in the right
direction. It is very likely a hardware problem or a driver not compatible
with Vista. Posting the full details of the BSOD may give a clue.
