Hello AJR,
Thank you for your reply. I didn't ask before as it was insignificant,
comparatively. What the heck is the first partition for ? the one with
only 78MB EISA . It's weird.

t-4-2 - I am "chastizing" myself for not really noting the 78 mb partition-
also with no drive letter assigned. EISA was a clone bus replacement for
IBM's MicroArchitecture now considred obsolete.
I have no idea why it is there The drive setup seems to be unusual for a
Dell laptop. A majority of OEMs include a recovery partition and provide an
utility to copy the partition to removeable media - generally documented
with material recieved with the computer. Question - new laptop or
refurbished?
More likely the "D" partition would be the recovery site - what files are on
the partition?

RE : What's in D drive
Sit tight, here comes the shocker. I "interogated" my son. He said that
after he bought it from Dell, he did not/could not want to buy an
external drive. And since he had both the OS Reinstallation DVD and the
Drivers/Utilities disk, he decided to use D drive for auto files backup.
SIT TIGHT, he also removed everything in the D drive to make room for
backup. I can't type anymore !!
