64 works great for gaming here. And for MANY others. If you want to use all
8 GB's of your RAM, you need 64 bit. You do lose a little bit of FPS, but
not much. With your video card, I doubt you'll have any problems vs. the 32
bit Vista. And there are no issues with drivers (mostly!)

I am currently using windows vista 64 bit, and havnt had much problems
with it, so far, in the last 5 months not a single crash of any games,
and is working quite well and efficiently. The computer i am currently
using has.
Amd 64x 2 3800
4 gb of ram
nvidia 8800gts
windows vista home premium 64bit.
yes, it will probably be slower than when you used xp, but only a
slight difference, really, with frame rate, and loading times. That is
because Vista is a bit bigger than xp, thats the only real hickup, its
the slight slowdown of the programs, but everytime you get a new os,
it always gets a bit slower, depending on what hardware you have in
your pc.

I use vista home premium 64, since it was released, I have had zero BSOD,
and if I had been still using XP, I would have done a reinstall by now. I do
have a few games that will not run, but as you have seen above, the VRG mob
are doing good work letting users know which titles do and don't work.

So is there any major problems with 64bit that we may run into.. Other
than for gaming.???
I'm currently just about finished with my new build..
Q6700
eVGA 750i Mobo
4GB RAM
Corsair 520HX. yada yada yada.. Other info is not important.. I have
not got my video card yet.. going to use my current 8600GT until I can
get something better.. or til the new cards come out and prices drop..
I'm planning on installing 64 bit in my system here soon. I've heard
good and bad things about it.. I have 4GB.. so thats part of why I want
it.. plus in the future i might even get more.
I do use my system mainly for gaming, but I also do a lot of DVD
burning, and Movie encoding.. so my question is what problems will I
possibly run into.. like drivers and such.. now that I've read most the
good games have no problems that makes me happy. but what about
everything else.. what can I expect from 64.. what things are very
commonly go wrong..
If anyone had some tips and info on what I should be expecting with
64bit.. what problems are common that I will maybe have.. anything else
you guys wanna share with me.. please let me kno ur thoughts..
Also 64bit is a lil faster than 32bit right.. thus being better for
gaming.
any and all 64bit info would be greatly appreciated..

vista 64 is fine for games for me, except for the wlan autoconfig thing,
yeah there hasn't been any problems besides that really for me, and I
pride myself on having a buttload of games.
