I can't comment for the laptop card, and as for desktop PC's this isn't
an option as its a PCI card, not a PnP device.

I can say however that the sounds quality is superior to that of my
onboard chipset, which is quite noticible in games with EAX.

My only gripe at the minute as that i cant calibrate the speakers so
the sound is a bit unbalanced in my room.

TommyK,

Keep us posted. I'm always interested in better (and louder) sound. No
matter what you've got, there's always something else that's better. Kind of
like computers and HDTVs.

Bump.

I have this exact issue. Fresh install of Vista 64 Ultimate and it's not
recognizing my sound card. I then went to the Creative site and downloaded
an application which was supposed to download the driver. The application
installed some software on my computer but Vista still isn't recognizing the
sound card.

It shows up as 'Other devices' - Multimedia Audio controller.

I'm getting a little frustrated at this point, I've had to play with my
BIOS, had blue screen crashes and now this... it seems with every fix there's
another problem.
