Post subject: can't find driver Add to elertz Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>vista>hardware_devices (more info?)
I am having a horrible time with my windows vista home premium, I bought an
external Lg dvd writer, when I connect my laptop ( an acer aspire, and all
specs are good for device compbility) recognizes the device, but can not find
the necessary driver, it gives me the option of updating windows or
installing device cd, I am set to update daily, but went and checked and
installed all updates I could find, and still no luck finding driver. LG
says it is a windows thing as the driver should be included in there. I
also, the first time I tried to install this device, I had put the cd that
had come with my writer, it has power dvd, power producer, nero, thinking
maybe the driver was there now I have these things installed but they are not
working, and it won't let me uninstall them. and for some reason system
restore says I have no restore points maden so that is not an option., sorry
for the long post but I am soo frustrated at this point.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
thank you
Leanna
