try to boot the PC with a boot CD (or a boot floppy) - whichever is
applicable.
if the PC wont boot you can either do antivirus cleaning of your PC
(requires good skills). if you are not comfortable with this procedure, bring
your PC to a pc tech shop near your place. this is recommended if you need to
recover some VIP works that you save in your PC.
you can also perform complete recovery of your system following the steps
available from your PC manufacturer ----- or if your system is a custom
build, clean re-install the OS - this means that you need to wipe out the
partition(s) and re-install the OS and all drivers and programs you want
installed.
i suggest you use ZoneAlarm Security Suite where you can have the option to
enable or disable antivirus. the nice feature of this ZoneAlarm is that - if
your antivirus is Enabled and your PC's perfpormance becomes compromised, you
can disable it or scan your PC and easily get rid of the viruses. note that
im not a representative of ZoneAlarm - am just sharing my experience with
this program because i've been using this firewall for almost 8 years now (or
since the birth of ZoneAlarm)
