I also find this very strange... I've just purchased a PC in Italy where I
happen to live at the moment, expecting that I would be able to change the
language back to English (as is possible with every previous version of MS
operating system I've owned) to find that I now have to spend a fortune on
the "Ultimate" edition (with a heap of peripheral functionality of which I
have no requirement) in order to do so...
Surely this is a backward step, and there must be a simpler way of providing
this service.... Anyone from Microsoft care to comment...?

I agree with Rob, I had the same experience with Vista Home Premium, the
version I bought is French and cannot be changed to English without buying a
new version, next time I buy a Mac

Hello guys!
I made a program to change display language in Vista Home and Business,
it uses official MS language packs...
'Vistalizator - change language in Vista Home and Business'
(http://www.froggie.sk) - try it out, still beta version

Ok, i understand that if you want to use diferent languages in only one
Win Vista, you must buy the Premium edition, it is right...
But if you don't want multiple languages, just using One Language in a
buyed version of windows, it is not right to obligate you to buy a new
copy of windos...
If it is like this.. I must sell before my previous version of vista or
I must throw to the trashcan my vista and the dollars that I pay for
it??

If you want Windows in a language other than the one the box shows as being
present, you should put that box back on the shelf and instead pick one that
shows that language as being present. In other words, if you picked up a
"U.S. English" copy of Vista and expected it to contain a Spanish language
version of Vista, that would be an unrealistic expectation.

change back to original language using Vistalizator and try to install
SP1 again
if it fails it is not my program's fault (it restores language
defaults) - other reasons can cause this_...
