Post subject: Getting back to the hidden restore partition Vista. Add to elertz Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>vista>installation_setup (more info?)
Is there a disk or a utility that can get me back to put vista back on my
machine?
What I did was format the C: Drive and installed WinXP as I had probs
getting on with Vista but I am finding I am having more problems with WinXP
than I did with Vista.
Its cracking me up as ZooStorm dont give out disks for windows vista and
they dont provide a way of creatig a backup disk, Just the partition.
I hope I can be helped as I would really be very gratefull to have Vista Back.

partition..

They just say to press F8 during bootup and select the restore part, Though
as now XP is on the computer due to formatting the C drive I only have the
WinXP Menu Pressing F8. It would be ok If I could just put in the drive
letter and then restore but with it being hidden restore Partition a drive
cannot be found. I know it is still there as it shows me it is when I
re-install winxp it shows up.

You may be pressing F8 too late.
Try tapping the F8 key as soon as you power up. Do NOT wait until Windows
starts to load

Oh I think I didnt explain that too well, I can get the Advanced menu up
pressing F8 but it only gives me the options for XP I get nothing in the way
of gettin gto the restore of vista on the Hidden Partition.
Its just crazy the way Vista is sold as Pre-installed and only availible on
a hidden partition, If the harddrive died I would still be in the same
situation with a valid key and no actual operating system.
I know its partly my own fault installing XP but this is so annoying.
Thanks for your replys trying to help they are much appriciated.

Thanks Mike, You wouldnt happen to have the Tech support Number of ZooStorm
in the UK? I hate putting things safe and end up being too safe that you
cant find them yourself. lol
