Running Vista Home Premium
CA Anti Virus 8.4.0.24

The security center warns me that I have no anti virus when clearly I do
(see above)
The security center will NOT turn on Windows Defender even after I have told
it to and it scaned for updates.

WHY?

I know this may seem like a dumb question, but do you have all the
latest updates (both program and definitions?) It's been my
experience in the past that either can cause Vista to think it's
unprotected. CA should register with Vista just fine--as it's listed
on Vista's official security page.

Def's are up todate. i will try re-regestering again. I read that CA is one
of the few anti viruses that works with vista and is recommended by vista.

Soultion
Step 1 Goto safe mode (may be with networking) Click on Perl and in

services and click on "run as administrator"
Step 2. Double click on "Windows Management Instrumentation" and click
on STOP button and stop this service
Step 3 Goto c:\windows\system32\wbem\repository and rename the
repository folder
