Post subject: Weird folder
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>vista>installation_setup (more info?)

I have been running Vista Home Premium for about a year now and recently I
installed SP1. I have noticed a new folder in the root of the drive with the
weird name of "bd6ab1ab976e46603d85b4fd7ce0". When I look into it there
seems to be a pile of stuff related to SP1.

SP1 installed trouble free, and I have had no trouble since. I am guessing
this folder might be to do with the ability to uninstall SP1. Given that the
computer is running just fine, can I delete this folder safely? Just wanting
to tidy things up a bit.

Thank you.

Hi Peter,
Us the Vista SP1 cleanup tool. It will cleanup all the SP1 install leftovers
if you no longer need to uninstall it.

Click the Start orb, All Programs, Accessories, and click Command Prompt.
Type vsp1cln.exe and then press Enter .
Follow instructions.
That's it.
