Okay when i installed vista i did a Custom install. it moved xp to
windows.old and vista as the main one, i thought i was making a dual boot. I
have vista on the C: and windows.old still there I WANT TO REVERT BACK TO XP;
how hard will this be, it seems that I will have to boot up with a live cd of
linux or some other live cd delete vista rename windows.old to windows then
change the boot.ini back to the orignal
Its jsut a thought!
do you think this will work I hoping i didnt screw up too bad, since xp is
still there but its in an windows.old folder
please anyone with anyhelp wuld be helpful

sorry my post seemed screwed up
I just installed vista doing custom install, it moved all my old windows to
windows.old,
I dont think it changes anything in there correct if not then we whould be
able to revert back!
My logic is to use a live os cd maybe a linux live cd or ERD commander
delete windows folder, copy windows from windows.old folder and
programfiles and document and settings and anyother files that are in
windows.old create a
copy
boot.ini file
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP
Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
copy ntldr and ntdetect.com and other system files that are need back to
root of C:
then reboot and hope for the best
What do you think email alden_michael RemoveThis @cox.net or Reply
