One of way too many problems I currently have with Vista! Every time I am
using the computer and have to walk away for any length of time, I have to
put the computer to sleep or it will lock up and I have to hard boot it. Any
easy fixes for this or should I just reinstall Vista?

Hi,
I doubt reinstalling would help. Locking up or freezing is usually a
hardware issue and you need to address it from that angle. It could be
faulty memory, overheating, bad power supply, or a number of other component
issues. As it doesn't occur if you put it in sleep mode, my guess is that
you have an overheating condition. Check for clear vents, proper fan
movement, clean heat sink, and for unrestricted air flow.

I really think it is software related, I can sit on the computer for two days
and it does not lock up as long as I don't walk away. It only freezes when it
is getting ready to go into screen saver or power save modes. I gues that
info would have helped previously, sorry! I also can not add any other users
to the computer, it goes through all of the steps but does not add the user.
I can not save any favorites to IE7. There is a whole list of funky issues!!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

CRIPES! That's WAY more than you mentioned in your first post.
What have you left out in that "whole list of funky issues!!"??
Right now - given your new info - it DOES look as if a reinstall is
needed.
You could start by running the System File Checker.
