brightness doesnot change after vista resumes from sleep is there any hotfix
to correct it

As far as I know, Vista does not have a brightness control. I would check
with the manufacturer of your computer.

The fix may differ from desktop to laptop.
The desktops usually use video drivers from the mfr of the video chip set.
Laptops usually use a modified version (The major mod has to do with the
laptops brightness/contrast and backlighting.)
Generally, the fix is to load up to date video drivers. In the case of a
laptop, the drivers are normally obtained from the laptop vendor, and may
not be as up to date as the drivers directly from the video chip mfr.
Unfortunately, the chipset mfrs "generic" drivers usually will not load, and
if they did, might screw up such things as brightness and backlight control.
