i have the same problem, before i install vista SP1 the VPN works, then i
cant connect, i also try to disconnect the firewall but nothing, then i
uninstall the the SP1 and it works, then i install the SP1 and doest work
again.

Hi Leo, I'm having exactly the same problem. Hopefully someone has found a
solution.

Sorry, Me again. I can add that I use only Windows Firewall, no other
software. Can't even ping my office server.

hi SKIHO,
please check on you router whether you have allowed port 1723 to pass
through. you also get this error if your router that you connect to is
blocking incoming port 1723. Also some routers support Virtual Server.
in that case you need to select VPN and allow LT2P or PPTP. Also when
your using a VPN remember Windows Vista Doesnt Support MS-CHAP Version1
as a Authntication protocol
