Post subject: Unable to access Vista compuer from Vista notebook when VPN runnin
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>vista>networking_sharing (more info?)

I have a home network with 2 XP computers, my Vista Enterprise notebook and
now a new computer running Vista Home Premium (64 bit).

No issues accessing the XP computers but when I have Microsoft VPN running
(connected to work) I cannot access shared resources on the new Vista box. I
can see the vista box on the network but get an error saying I don't have
permission when I try to connect.

Issue seems to be related to Windows being confused by the existence of two
network connections -- physical connection and the VPN connection -- when I
try to connect to the Vista box.

Archived from groups: per prev. post (more info?)

For security reason, many companies disable local sharing when connecting to
the VPN. Posting the results of ipconfig /all and routing table here may
help.
